When Aneta projected my portraits onto the cinematic screen, I immediately started crying — happy tears.
Before coming to the studio, I was full of doubt. I didn’t feel in my best shape and really believed I still needed to work on myself, inside and out, to actually deserve a photoshoot. But the moment I saw myself on that big screen, something changed. All I was able to say was: I am beautiful.
For most of my life I struggled with how I saw myself. I felt unattractive, imperfect, average and constantly focused on what needed to change. I had never imagined I could look at myself with love. I faked confidence to the outside world, but deep inside I felt like I am not enough.
Today, I have a treasure box with my portraits on my makeup table and a black-and-white portrait hanging in my living room. I even hated selfies and now a massive portrait of me in the centre of our house. And every time I see it, I feel proud. I feel at peace with the woman I am. With my wrinkles and hanging skin on my stomach. I feel confident.
This experience didn’t just give me beautiful portraits — it changed the way I see myself and it changed my life.
